Overview

The Lead Beverage Operations Manager will be responsible for enhancing and expanding the bar's offerings, recruiting and mentoring bartenders and baristas, and ensuring that patrons receive top-notch beverages, cuisine, and service. This role includes overseeing inventory management, resource allocation, and organizing member events as part of the monthly programming schedule. The Lead Beverage Operations Manager will also ensure compliance with quality and safety standards, maintain necessary licenses, update vendor agreements, create staff schedules, and establish business objectives aimed at increasing profitability and enhancing member satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the operational aspects of the bar, including maintaining an up-to-date liquor license, negotiating supplier agreements, managing inventory, budgeting, and setting strategic goals.
  • Recruit and train personnel to deliver exceptional service to members.
  • Develop effective staffing schedules and swiftly address conflicts to ensure optimal staffing during peak periods.
  • Establish and uphold quality and safety protocols.
  • Research and innovate drink recipes and programs to curate an appealing and creative menu.
  • Ensure licenses are current and compliant with existing regulations.
  • Engage with a diverse range of personalities among staff and members.
  • Plan and participate in member-focused events and activities.
  • Manage and de-escalate tense situations among members or staff to maintain a harmonious environment.
  • Foster a fun and safe atmosphere for all members.
  • Ensure proper opening and closing procedures are followed at the start and end of shifts.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager and the Director of Food & Beverage to review and develop annual budgets and targets for the bar.
  • Analyze financial performance to ensure business profitability aligns with objectives and take appropriate actions to address any issues.
  • Work closely with other management personnel to support the overall success of the organization.
  • Participate in onboarding new employees to communicate the bar's role within the organization and its core values.
  • Conduct market research, gather information, solicit multiple quotes, negotiate contracts, and present findings for approval before finalizing any agreements.
  • Ensure adherence to insurance, legal, health, and safety requirements.
  • Create an inspiring team culture with open communication.
  • Delegate tasks effectively and set clear deadlines.
  • Be available to undertake additional reasonable duties as assigned by the General Manager or Food and Beverage Manager.
  • Be prepared to work evenings and weekends as necessary to support the Food & Beverage department.
