Role Responsibilities:

Lead Strategist, Search Operations collaborates with various stakeholders, including business units, product teams, and engineering departments, to prioritize and develop the online search functionality for Walmart. You will oversee a blend of strategic initiatives and operational tasks across the team, ensuring effective cross-departmental collaboration to advance search and discovery projects from conception to implementation. We seek a proactive leader who excels in uncertain environments, possesses a strong drive for results, and demonstrates exceptional communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic and Operational Leadership:

  • Develop comprehensive strategic and operational plans for significant projects, including the creation of presentations and supporting materials.
  • Manage ongoing operational reporting for the business, ensuring the preparation of relevant materials and the monitoring of operational objectives.
Cross-Departmental Program Management:
  • Facilitate project progress through consistent program management, acting as the central coordinator for resource allocation, design, analytics, and more.
  • Foster and maintain relationships across Walmart to support project initiatives.
  • Continuously assess project risks and dependencies, proactively addressing obstacles to ensure successful outcomes.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree coupled with a minimum of 4 years of experience in areas such as innovation, business consulting, investment banking, or corporate strategy.
  • Ability to critically analyze complex business challenges and apply strategic frameworks to formulate strategies, evaluate trade-offs, and make informed decisions.
  • Proven experience in managing cross-functional projects and engaging with executive leadership.
  • A high level of intellectual curiosity, energy, and a strong work ethic.
  • Demonstrated success in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities independently amidst ambiguity.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to convey concepts and ideas effectively to stakeholders at all levels, including senior executives.
  • A strong inclination towards action and a sense of curiosity, as the dynamic nature of our business requires adaptability and innovation.
