Hospitality Operations Manager at Ropeswing Group - Innovative Concept

About The Role:

Ropeswing Group is seeking a Hospitality Operations Manager to lead a new initiative within our organization.

The Hospitality Operations Manager (HOM) is accountable for overseeing the daily functions of the restaurant, which includes the recruitment, development, and performance assessment of team members. Additionally, the HOM manages inventory and procurement of food and supplies, maximizes profitability, and ensures a high level of guest satisfaction with their dining experience. The HOM fosters a positive working relationship with all staff to cultivate a collaborative and harmonious work environment, conducive to optimal employee morale, productivity, and effectiveness.

This position is salaried and exempt, reporting directly to the Vice President of Bars and Restaurants.

Compensation is based on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Directly supervise all culinary staff, managers, and hourly employees, including hiring, training, coaching, staffing, performance evaluations, and related supervisory tasks.
  • Develop and manage an annual budget for the restaurant, ensuring regular review and accountability.
  • Establish a cost-effective wage structure based on productivity and efficiency.
  • Analyze monthly Profit & Loss statements, scrutinizing expenses to enhance profit margins without sacrificing quality.
  • Drive and monitor performance through Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), linking outcomes with sales and marketing efforts.
  • Communicate essential restaurant and departmental information during staff meetings, training sessions, and through written communications.
  • Adhere to company standards and service levels to boost sales and minimize costs, including food, beverage, supply, utility, and labor expenses.
  • Ensure all financial and personnel-related administrative tasks are completed accurately and timely, in line with company policies.
  • Maintain an up-to-date staffing plan for the restaurant, preparing schedules to ensure adequate coverage for all shifts.
  • Implement security measures to protect employees, guests, and company assets.
  • Ensure a safe working and dining environment to minimize the risk of injury and accidents.
  • Address and resolve any complaints regarding food quality and service.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of three years of General Management experience or five years of restaurant management experience in a high-volume, full-service setting.
  • Exceptional verbal communication skills; organized and capable of multitasking; advanced mathematical, reading, and computer skills.
  • Proficient in Budgeting, Profit & Loss Statement analysis, and inventory management.
  • Experience in Labor Management.
  • Must possess or obtain all necessary licenses and certifications as required by local health authorities and Alcoholic Beverage Commission.
  • Ability to remain on your feet for extended periods.
  • Strong knowledge of beverages is advantageous.
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check.
