Project Management Specialist for Government Projects

Position Overview

ProSphere (PST), a Planned Systems International (PSI) company, is in search of a skilled Project Manager with a robust background in overseeing multiple Federal government initiatives for a Government client. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proven leadership capabilities and possess substantial experience in managing Information Technology (IT) infrastructure projects, including system engineering, infrastructure operations, and cloud transitions. The Enterprise Project Manager (EPM) should be proficient in project management methodologies and life cycle processes, with a strong focus on tracking performance metrics, resource allocation, risk assessment, and fostering business relationships. Exceptional problem-solving abilities and effective communication skills with all project stakeholders are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily management and accountability of assigned projects.
  • Supervise all facets of project development and execution, ensuring milestones and deliverables are met.
  • Generate high-quality documentation, including briefings, schedules, and reports to support project objectives.
  • Create and maintain project schedules.
  • Develop weekly status reports to monitor project deliverables and milestones.
  • Employ formal project management tools and methodologies aligned with industry standards.
  • Manage risks throughout the product development life cycle, covering infrastructure, software enhancements, and deployment.
  • Engage in project status reviews and government oversight meetings, producing ad-hoc reports for metrics and documentation.
  • Organize and coordinate meetings, including agenda preparation, minute-taking, and follow-up on action items.
  • Maintain an online library of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) accessible to all contract personnel and Federal Managers via Microsoft SharePoint.
  • Collaborate with and motivate project team members to achieve project goals.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business, or a related field (6 years of additional relevant experience may substitute for education).
  • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience, specifically in leading IT projects focused on infrastructure and operations.
  • Possession of Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or Certified Scrum Master (CSM) is required.
  • Familiarity with agile project management practices.
  • Capability to obtain and maintain a Federal public trust/security clearance.
  • Proficient in managing document libraries using Microsoft SharePoint.
  • Proven track record in applying project management principles effectively.
  • Ability to identify potential issues affecting project success and delegate resources for corrective actions.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, catering to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.
  • Capacity to work in an office environment for extended periods.
  • Experience with document editing tools such as MS Office, screen capture software, and VISIO.
  • Ability to mentor junior team members.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational capabilities.
