Abacus Technology Corporation is in search of a Project Manager to direct various initiatives and manage a skilled technical team dedicated to supporting the Department of Energy's Office of Environment, Health, Safety, and Security (EHSS). This role is a full-time commitment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee a substantial group of IT specialists delivering technical assistance in web and database development, network management, and cybersecurity.
- Track progress on tasks and provide updates to client management regarding challenges faced and achievements made.
- Assess team performance and review deliverables on a daily basis.
- Ensure adherence to time and budget constraints for the organization.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive information technology project plan that outlines tasks, milestone dates, status updates, and resource allocation.
- Implement software life-cycle methodologies and agile practices.
- Facilitate the delivery of development and production releases that comply with quality assurance standards.
- Support the technical team in design and development activities and assist the testing team in formulating test plans and conducting testing efforts.
Qualifications
Minimum of 10 years of experience in information technology, with at least 5 years in recent project management positions. A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required. PMP certification is advantageous. Proven experience in providing supervisory, technical, and administrative guidance to staff. Demonstrated ability to cultivate successful client relationships and collaborate closely with senior agency staff and program/task managers to execute projects effectively. Proficient in developing, implementing, and executing program management plans, work plans, schedules, and budgets. Experience in planning, organizing, directing, and controlling all aspects of a project, including management, technical work, quality assurance, scheduling, and cost management. Familiarity with automated project management tools (e.g., MS Project) is essential. Experience in risk and problem management from identification through mitigation to resolution is required. Must be capable of working collaboratively with technical teams and government program managers efficiently. A high level of motivation, assertiveness, and excellent communication skills are necessary. Candidates must be U.S. citizens and possess a current DoD Top Secret or DoE Q clearance.
