Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Youth Climbing Team Coach to join our team at Movement. As a key member of our coaching staff, you will be responsible for leading and developing our youth climbing team, promoting a culture of excellence, and fostering a sense of community among our athletes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage the daily instruction and training of our youth climbing team, ensuring that all activities promote our core values and a sense of belonging among team members.
  • Coaching and Development: Coach at practices and competitions, providing guidance and support to athletes to help them reach their full potential.
  • Program Development: Collaborate with the Team Manager and Team Coach Supervisors to develop and implement training plans, competitions, and events that align with our team's goals and objectives.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Effectively communicate with athletes, coaches, parents, and gym leadership to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Administrative Support: Assist with administrative duties, including monitoring team rosters, tracking belay training, and organizing practice notes.
Requirements

  • Climbing Experience: Possess strong climbing and training background, with experience in climbing instruction commensurate with the team level being coached.
  • Communication Skills: Demonstrate excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate professionally and effectively with athletes, coaches, parents, and gym leadership.
  • Qualifications: Possess a strong passion for developing youth athletes and climbing coaches, with experience in USA Climbing competitions, routesetting, and/or competitive climbing preferred.
Benefits
  • Part-Time Position: This is a part-time, non-exempt position, including gym membership, gear discounts, guest passes, and other benefits available to Movement employees.
  • Competitive Pay: Starting pay is $18.75/hour, with room for flexibility depending on experience.
