Job Summary

The Patient Care Assistant is a vital member of our healthcare team at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center. Under the direct supervision of licensed personnel, this role is responsible for performing activities of daily living for patients and assisting with unit activities that support patient care in the Rehabilitation department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Support unit activities that promote patient care and safety
  • Contribute to a clean and safe working environment
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure high-quality patient care

Requirements

  • Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred
  • Certified Nursing Assistants with 3 years of experience in an acute care facility or 5 years of experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility or sub-acute setting
  • Nursing students actively enrolled in a nursing program who have completed the first semester of the nursing program
  • High school diploma or equivalency
  • Basic computer knowledge preferred
  • A current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (CPR & AED) certification is required
