Overview

Tanium is on the lookout for a proactive Enterprise Systems Architect to develop intricate solutions and comprehensive documentation for our essential technology and operational processes. This role will serve as a domain-level technical authority and consultant to our business partners, IT executives, Business Analysts, and the Enterprise Architecture team. Key responsibilities include providing technical guidance, creating and updating architecture documentation (covering application, technology, and data layers), hands-on development and code evaluation for NetSuite, and participating in all solution design discussions within the Enterprise Systems domain. Additionally, the Enterprise Systems Architect will foster a culture of high availability and efficiency by identifying and documenting reusable components to facilitate quicker analysis, including diagrams, data models, and dependency graphs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilizing business systems to enhance standard operational and accounting processes (Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger)
  • Planning and executing new capabilities, enhancements, and features within NetSuite
  • Performing necessary systems administration tasks
  • Ensuring the quality of development work and deployed solutions
  • Collaborating with the Enterprise Architecture and Information Security teams to ensure proposed solutions meet security and regulatory compliance standards
  • Working closely with other domain Architects to evaluate, understand, and document cross-functional dependencies
  • Creating and presenting architectural diagrams depicting current, transitional, and future states to stakeholders
  • Contributing to and refining the Corporate Systems toolkit of standardized process frameworks and technology ecosystem models
  • Maintaining accurate documentation across the domain, including technical, application, and data layer diagrams and specifications
  • Engaging in ongoing research, learning, and assessment of new tools, capabilities, and features that may provide additional value to Tanium
  • Occasional project management duties
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience:
    • 8+ years in a related field
    • 8+ years of hands-on experience with NetSuite
    • Familiarity with SOX and ITGC compliance
    • General understanding of People functions including Performance, Total Compensation, Workforce Planning, Employee Life Cycle
    • Basic knowledge and practical application of UML
    • Strong ability to learn new tools and technologies through the lens of business process best practices
    • Expertise in strategizing, planning, developing, and deploying technical solutions across GTM, Finance, Procurement, and HR domains
    • Proficiency in translating business needs into technical tasks across critical business processes (e.g., Procure to Pay, Quote to Cash, Performance Management, Compensation, Payroll) with a focus on Finance and People
    • Architect-level knowledge of NetSuite with Suitescript expertise
    • Deep technical understanding of two or more common G&A tools (e.g., Avalara, Concur, Coupa, Adaptive Insights, Workday, SuccessFactors, Salesforce)
    • Experience with integrations (NetSuite native, SAP Integration Center, or middleware)
    • Exceptional systematic troubleshooting and documentation skills
    • Excellent communication abilities and strong business acumen
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Understanding of common SDLC frameworks
    • Familiarity with JavaScript or other programming languages
    • Knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition methods
    • Exposure to common Architecture frameworks
    • Consultation experience in People, GTM, Procurement, or Finance technology as an Architect, Lead Developer, or similar role
    • Experience with Kanban project management methodology
    • Experience with Jira
    • Experience with Xactly is a significant advantage
