Position: Facilities Operations Manager

Reports to: Executive Housekeeper, Housekeeping Manager

Job Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt, Hourly

Southall Farm and Inn is a distinguished venue that harmonizes nature, agriculture, and community in a unique and impactful manner. The Facilities Operations Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring the maintenance, cleanliness, and efficient functioning of the property’s public areas. The ideal candidate will possess substantial knowledge and experience in conducting inspections, implementing proper cleaning protocols, and safely managing equipment and chemicals. This position will be accountable for ensuring all departments uphold the standards for the maintenance of public spaces.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the cleanliness of all guest-facing public areas throughout the property, while managing the cleaning assignments for the Public Area Housekeeping teams.
  • Assist in developing and refining comprehensive criteria and checklists for each public space.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure all areas meet cleanliness standards.
  • Effectively communicate and coordinate through daily pre-shift meetings, managing personnel selection, training, and supervision, as well as VIP preparations.
  • Uphold property standards, policies, and procedures while prioritizing and organizing work assignments, directing staff performance, and implementing necessary corrections.
  • Exhibit expertise in understanding grounds and facilities layouts, cleanliness expectations, and procedures.
  • Occasionally support Housekeeping Leadership with organizational tasks as required.

Skills and Experience:

  • Three to five years of experience in hotel/resort and large facility housekeeping maintenance is highly preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and provide clear, concise directions in both verbal and written forms.
  • Proficiency in English (speaking, reading, writing) to ensure effective communication with guests, colleagues, and leadership.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, speed, accuracy, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong teamwork skills, including listening, coaching, guiding, adaptability, collaboration, and facilitation.
  • Physical capability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Availability to work weekends, evenings, and/or holidays.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods as necessary.

Education:

High School diploma or GED.
