About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our team at AMA Support Services LLC. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in creating and preserving a culture of excellence, compassion, and integrity in the delivery of services to our individuals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Represent the Mission, Vision, and Values of AMA Support Services through action and presentation, ensuring that our organization's values are upheld in all interactions.
  • Create a Culture of Excellence by establishing a structured and nurturing environment that responds to and meets the needs and preferences of the individuals you serve.
  • Ensure the Health, Safety, and Personal Development of participants while in the home and community, providing encouragement, assistance, and support for all activities of daily living (ADLs).
  • Provide Personal Care and Hygiene Support including bathing, grooming, and toileting, while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and requirements.
  • Deliver Community Participation Services as prescribed in the participant's Individual Support Plan (ISP), promoting safety and responding to any incidents that may occur.
  • Develop Positive Working Relationships with the individuals' support team, ensuring that all service records and company documentation is complete, thorough, accurate, and compliant with all applicable regulations and requirements.
  • Facilitate, Assist, and Support Relationships between individuals in service and those who are important to them, through positive communication, cooperation, and collaboration.
  • Manage Individual and Company Finances including making and recording transactions in accordance with policy, procedure, and regulation, operating within a budget.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma (or Equivalent) required, with work experience as a caregiver (professional or personal) preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License required, with proficiency in technology skills including the use of smartphones, laptops, web-based database navigation, and data entry.
  • Ability to Read, Write, and Communicate Effectively with others, demonstrating a positive and enthusiastic attitude, integrity, and honesty.
Working Conditions
  • Hours and Weekly Schedule dictated by current tasks and program needs, with flexibility to fill in for vacant shifts with little notice.
  • Work on Holidays, During Inclement Weather, Overnight, and on Weekends required, with frequent lifting, stretching, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping while assisting individuals in service.
  • Exposure to Various Medical Conditions and Communicable Diseases may occur, requiring the ability to work in a variety of settings, including offices, communities, and homes of individuals in service.
