Position Summary


The Welding Quality Assurance Specialist plays a crucial role in safeguarding the quality and reliability of welded structures. This position involves conducting thorough inspections, ensuring adherence to industry standards and project specifications, and collaborating with engineering teams to promote best practices in welding.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Required to drive, stand, walk, use hands for typing, handling, or feeling; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance, talk, and hear. Body motions include bending, twisting, reaching, stooping, pulling, kneeling, lifting, carrying, and pushing, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Lifting and/or moving up to thirty-five lbs. regularly is expected, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • This position involves exposure to intense sun, heat, humidity, rain, thunderstorms, and other adverse weather conditions.
  • Regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions and construction sites where noise levels are typically moderate to loud.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct welding inspections at various job sites, ensuring accurate, complete, and timely reporting in accordance with applicable inspection procedures.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to grasp project requirements.
  • Operate and maintain a company vehicle, including scheduling oil changes and checking fluid levels.
  • Possession of relevant welding certifications is preferred, such as those from the American Welding Society (AWS) or other recognized certifying bodies.
  • Collaborate closely with team members, including fabricators, engineers, and supervisors, to ensure project completion meets quality standards.
  • Communicate with dispatching and/or field supervisors regarding job status and locations as required.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, requirements, and company policies.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to protect oneself and others in the work environment, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality for scheduled jobs.
  • Complete daily time and labor reports accurately following company policy.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and policies.
  • Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Required Qualifications:
  • Valid Florida Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to pass a background check screening in accordance with relevant regulations.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a welding certification program or relevant vocational training.
  • Proven experience as a welder in a similar capacity.
  • Certified Welding Inspector Certification.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Knowledge of various welding techniques and equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity for prolonged periods of standing, bending, and lifting.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and a commitment to adhering to them.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Relevant welding certifications recognized by the American Welding Society (AWS) or other recognized agencies.
