Position Summary

Regal Marine is in search of a proficient and experienced individual to join our team as a Quality Assurance Specialist - Marine Systems. This distinctive role merges quality assurance expertise with the capability to operate and assess large vessels up to 50 feet in length. The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of marine systems and electrical components, along with a passion for ensuring high-quality products for our clientele.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Perform comprehensive inspections and evaluations of marine systems and electrical components to detect potential quality concerns.
  2. Diagnose and troubleshoot system and electrical issues, proposing effective solutions.
  3. Establish and implement quality control processes and protocols to ensure adherence to company standards and industry regulations.
  4. Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to enhance product design and production processes.
  5. Conduct water tests on large vessels up to 50 feet in length.
  6. Document and communicate test results, sharing findings with relevant stakeholders.
  7. Maintain precise records of inspections, evaluations, and repairs.
  8. Stay informed on industry best practices and technological advancements.

Required Qualifications

  1. Strong knowledge of marine systems, including electrical, plumbing, and propulsion systems.
  2. Experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting system and electrical issues.
  3. Proficient in utilizing testing equipment and diagnostic tools.
  4. Experience operating vessels on the water, including docking and loading onto trailers.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  6. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  7. Valid driver's license.
  8. Conversational proficiency in English.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
  2. Experience in quality assurance, preferably within the marine sector.
  3. Demonstrated experience operating vessels up to 50 feet in length.
  4. ABYC and/or NMMA certifications.
  5. Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
  6. Experience with quality management software.

Work Environment

Must be capable of working in a non-climate controlled setting where ambient air temperatures may exceed outside temperatures, reaching over 100 degrees Fahrenheit at times.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.

While fulfilling the responsibilities of this role, the employee is regularly required to bend at the waist and knees and stand for extended periods. The employee frequently needs to climb into and out of vessels using stairs. The employee must be able to lift 50 pounds, work 10-hour shifts predominantly on their feet, and be available for overtime, whether scheduled or unscheduled.
