Senior Fund Accountant Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Fund Accountant to join our dynamic finance team at Jobot. As a Senior Fund Accountant, you will be responsible for managing the financial reporting and tax preparation for our diverse portfolio of real estate investments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Prepare and review tax returns, ensuring compliance with state, federal, and international tax laws.
  • Coordinate with external auditors for the annual audit process.
  • Perform complex fund accounting activities including reconciliations, expense allocation, capital calls, and distributions.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the real estate industry and stay updated on the latest accounting standards and regulations.
  • Develop and implement effective accounting policies and procedures to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Provide financial analysis and reporting to management on major capital expenditures and investment decisions.
  • Assist in budget preparation and financial planning processes.
  • Train and mentor junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in fund accounting or related roles, preferably within the real estate industry.
  • CPA certification or equivalent professional qualification is highly desirable.
  • Proficient in tax preparation and knowledgeable about tax laws and regulations.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and experience with financial reporting and analysis.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience in mentoring junior staff.
