Giant Food Pharmacy is actively seeking Licensed Pharmacists to join our esteemed Clinical Pharmacy Team, recognized as the leading grocery pharmacy provider in the DMV area. Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily pharmacy operations by collaborating with support staff to efficiently manage prescription processing in compliance with State and Federal Regulations
  • Process prescriptions and perform data entry utilizing advanced pharmacy systems that incorporate clinical decision-making and medication management
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Program Team to implement off-site immunization clinics and community outreach initiatives to promote pharmacy services
  • Ensure accurate processing of prescriptions in line with contract guidelines to facilitate proper insurance claim adjudication and assist with prior authorizations
  • Support the Pharmacy Manager in managing pharmaceutical inventory
  • Enhance customer engagement through effective counseling and OTC recommendations
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures
  • Supervise pharmacy support staff during shifts, assigning roles and managing workflow to improve customer experience
  • Provide assistance to the Pharmacy Manager and Store Manager in executing pharmacy promotion programs and health initiatives
  • Maintain pharmacy standards in accordance with company policies
Requirements, Skills & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree
  • Previous experience in retail pharmacy settings
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Willingness to travel to various locations
  • Valid CPR certification or basic life support training
  • Immunization certifications in compliance with State regulations
  • Strong understanding of inventory control practices
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask effectively
  • Proficient in English communication, both written and verbal, as it pertains to job responsibilities and safety regulations
  • Demonstrated knowledge of diversity, equity, and inclusion principles
  • Ability to utilize equipment and tools necessary for job performance
  • Meet company performance standards and participate in orientation and training programs
