Position Overview
The GW Medical Faculty Associates (MFA) operates as a non-profit, physician-led practice group, established to support The George Washington University School of Medicine and Sciences. As the largest independent academic physician practice in the Washington, DC metro area, the organization comprises 375 physicians and 100 Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).

Role Summary
The primary responsibility of the Pharmacist is to efficiently execute and document standard professional tasks related to the preparation and distribution of medications. This role includes providing patient education and counseling, along with engaging in various projects within the Retail Pharmacy.

Key Responsibilities
1. Accurately interpret, enter into the system, and dispense prescriptions.
2. Offer guidance and counsel to patients regarding their medications and treatment plans.
3. Manage inventory levels and place orders for pharmaceuticals.
4. Prepare specialized formulations such as creams, ointments, and solutions.
5. Assist in training new pharmacy personnel.
6. Maintain records for stock and controlled substances.
7. Input patient data into the customer profile system.
8. Exhibit a solid understanding of pharmacokinetics.
9. Analyze prescription patterns to optimize inventory management.
10. Address patient inquiries and resolve third-party billing issues.
11. Provide medication therapy management, including targeted interventions and comprehensive medication reviews.

Compliance and Professionalism
Demonstrate adherence to local and federal regulations, institutional policies, and procedures. Maintain effective supervision in daily operations while fostering a collaborative work environment. Exhibit professionalism in navigating challenges while prioritizing patient care and compliance.

Vaccination Responsibilities
Administer vaccinations in accordance with established protocols and agreements.

Qualifications
Education: Bachelor of Science or Doctoral degree in Pharmacy.
Licensure: Must possess a current and valid Registered Pharmacist license in the District of Columbia.
Experience: Minimum of one year of professional pharmacy experience.
Physical Requirements: Ability to sit and reach in a clinical environment, with occasional lifting of over 20 lbs. Exposure to healthcare settings may necessitate the use of personal protective equipment. Manual dexterity is required for operating various office equipment.
