Optical Coating Specialist

2nd Shift: Monday - Thursday, 2:00pm - 12:00am (midnight)

Chroma Technology is currently in search of an Optical Coating Specialist to enhance our Coating department. In this position, you will be tasked with the operation and upkeep of high-vacuum apparatus to create a range of optical coatings. Collaborating closely with a dedicated team, you will focus on maximizing output and ensuring optimal performance.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
  • Prepare coating machinery for deposition processes
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot high-vacuum thin film deposition systems
  • Plan and execute preventative maintenance activities
  • Assess coated optical components for compliance with specifications
  • Acquire a comprehensive understanding of thin film optical designs
  • Collaborate with team members to enhance the efficiency of vacuum systems
  • Set up and reposition glass substrates for coating applications
  • Coordinate with various departments to facilitate custom manufacturing
