The Commission on Gender Equity (CGE) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief of Staff to join its leadership team. The successful candidate will support the Executive Director in developing and implementing operating systems and accountability metrics to ensure the accomplishment of CGE's goals and smooth, effective, and efficient agency operations.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee and manage CGE's annual planning and implementation processes.
- Develop and maintain systems that facilitate and support collaboration across CGE's departments.
- Develop, manage, and maintain CGE's operating systems and accountability metrics.
- Develop and implement CGE's fundraising agenda to increase grant funding from private foundations and serve as CGE's liaison to the Mayor's Fund to Advance New York City.
- Coordinate CGE Commissioners' Meetings and oversee communication with CGE Commissioners.
- Represent CGE at internal and external meetings, workgroups, and/or Task Forces.
- A master's degree from an accredited college in economics, finance, accounting, business, or public administration, human resources management, management science, operations research, organizational behavior, industrial psychology, statistics, personnel administration, labor relations, psychology, sociology, human resources development, political science, urban studies, or a closely related field.
- Two years of satisfactory full-time professional experience in one or a combination of the following: working with the budget of a large public or private concern in budget administration, accounting, economic or financial administration, or fiscal or economic research; in management or methods analysis, operations research, organizational research, or program evaluation; in personnel or public administration, recruitment, position classification, personnel relations, employee benefits, staff development, employment program planning/administration, labor market research, economic planning, social services program planning/evaluation, or fiscal management; or in a related area.
- 18 months of this experience must have been in an executive, managerial, administrative, or supervisory capacity. Supervision must have included supervising staff performing professional work in the areas described above.
- 4 years of managerial and/or supervisory experience.
- A strong background in the gender equity field, including a demonstrated ability to work across racial, ethnic, gender, and sexual diversity.
- Demonstrated project and relationship management experience.
- Proven experience working effectively with the senior management level with diverse internal and external stakeholders and constituencies.
New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County.
