Nuclear Medicine Clinical Faculty Position

The University of Miami Health System is seeking a full-time faculty member for the Division of Nuclear Medicine within the Department of Radiology. This position is available at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor level, depending on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.

  • The successful applicant will join a dedicated team of six Nuclear Medicine Radiologists affiliated with Jackson Memorial Hospital and the University of Miami Hospital and Clinics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret a variety of imaging studies, including plain film, CT, and MR, from multiple facilities.
  • Deliver clinical care, educate trainees, provide service, and engage in research activities.
  • Participate in academic events such as grand rounds, journal clubs, and multidisciplinary conferences. Serve on various committees at both departmental and institutional levels.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor faculty and staff physicians.
  • Conduct research, publish scholarly articles, and represent the institution at professional conferences.
  • Teach and supervise both undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Attend faculty and departmental meetings to discuss issues and propose enhancements.

Our facility is equipped with advanced technologies, including PET/CT, SPECT/CT, and gamma camera systems, along with specialized software for nuclear medicine post-processing and analysis. Additionally, we have integrated Artificial Intelligence capabilities to improve workflow efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in all facets of Nuclear Medicine Diagnostic Imaging.
  • Preferred experience in Radiopharmaceutical Therapy and Theranostics, given the Division's engagement in various traditional and innovative therapies.
  • Board certification in Nuclear Medicine (ABNM) and Diagnostic Radiology (ABR) or eligibility is required.
  • A medical degree (M.D. or D.O.), Ph.D. or equivalent, and eligibility for medical licensure in Florida.
  • Proven academic excellence demonstrated through scientific presentations and publications.
Foreign medical graduates seeking university sponsorship for an H-1B visa must have completed all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or an equivalent approved by the Health and Human Services Secretary.
