The Division of Nuclear Medicine within the Department of Radiology at the University of Miami Health System is seeking to appoint a full-time faculty member at the Assistant Professor, Associate, or Professor level on the clinical educator track, contingent upon qualifications and experience.

  • The selected individual will join a dedicated team of six Nuclear Medicine Radiologists operating at Jackson Memorial Hospital and the University of Miami Hospital and Clinics.
  • Jackson and UHealth provide state-of-the-art medical care led by top regional specialists, bolstered by the pioneering research initiatives of the University of Miami Health System.
  • As the sole University-affiliated comprehensive healthcare system in South Florida, UHealth is pivotal in shaping the future of healthcare delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct interpretations of plain film, CT, and MR imaging from multiple facilities, including Jackson Memorial Hospital.
  • Deliver clinical services, educate trainees, contribute to departmental service, and potentially engage in research activities.
  • Participate in grand rounds, journal clubs, and multidisciplinary conferences, while serving on various committees at both departmental and institutional levels.
  • Recruit, mentor, and train faculty and staff physicians.
  • Engage in research, publish scholarly articles, and represent the institution at academic conferences.
  • Instruct and supervise both undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Attend faculty and departmental meetings to discuss concerns and propose enhancements.

Facility resources include advanced PET/CT, SPECT/CT, and gamma camera technologies, complemented by specialized nuclear medicine post-processing and analysis software. The integration of Artificial Intelligence capabilities has also been implemented to improve workflow efficiency.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in all facets of Nuclear Medicine Diagnostic Imaging.
  • Experience in Radiopharmaceutical Therapy and Theranostics is highly desirable due to the Division's engagement in various conventional and innovative therapies.
  • Board certification in Nuclear Medicine (ABNM) and Diagnostic Radiology (ABR) or eligibility is mandatory.
  • Possession of a medical degree (M.D. or D.O.), Ph.D. or equivalent, along with eligibility for medical licensure in Florida.
  • Demonstrated academic excellence through scientific presentations and publications.
Foreign medical school graduates seeking University sponsorship for an H-1B visa must have completed all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or an equivalent approved by the Health and Human Services Secretary.
