Job Summary

The Human Resources Manager at AHMC HealthCare is responsible for providing strategic support to the organization by overseeing various HR functions, including staffing, benefits, performance management, employee relations, labor relations, and more. This role requires a strong understanding of HR principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee employee terminations, including issuing separation forms and conducting exit interviews
  • Process employee payroll requests and performance evaluations in HRIS
  • Review and address employee relations issues of non-management staff
  • Conduct employee investigations and support management with employee counseling
  • Review Incident Management Portal (IMP) and respond to inquiries
  • Assist with labor relations, including responses to union grievances
  • Coordinate Employee Safety Committee and Accident Prevention Team meetings and agenda
  • Provide accurate reports of injuries, coordinate modified work programs, and work with Corporate WC Generalist on litigated cases
  • Coordinate with personnel to complete ergonomic assessments to enhance employee safety
  • Assist with supervision of HR staff, including compliance with work schedules and organizational policies
  • Provide feedback to the HR Director on staff performance
  • Provide support to non-exempt HR staff as needed for the successful completion of duties
  • Oversee the human resources department in the absence of the HR Director

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field
  • Minimum 1 year Human Resources supervisory experience
  • Human Resources supervisory experience in an acute healthcare setting with a unionized workforce a plus
  • Basic computer skills, excellent organizational and prioritization skills
  • Very good English oral and written communications skills
  • Proficient in computer software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish/Vietnamese/Chinese) preferred
  • Professional Human Resources Designation (SHRM-HRCI) preferred
