About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Staff Auditor I. As a key member of our audit team, you will be responsible for performing professional audit work under the direction of senior auditors, focusing on MaineCare Providers and Community Agencies that receive state and federal funds through contracts with DHHS.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct financial and/or compliance audits to ensure conformance to established laws, rules, regulations, and standards.
  • Develop and implement audit plans, and perform audit procedures to identify and assess risks.
  • Communicate audit findings and recommendations to management and other stakeholders.
Requirements
  • 6 years of practical, progressively responsible accounting or auditing experience at the professional level, or
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field, or
  • Meet the requirements to sit for the Certified Public Accountant's Examination (at least 150 semester hours of education, including a minimum 4-year baccalaureate or higher degree conferred by a college or university acceptable to the board, and shall consist of at least 15 hours of accounting, auditing, and ethics).
