We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Office Specialist I to join our team at the Maine Veterans' Memorial Cemetery System in Augusta. Key Responsibilities- Assist families with grave marker applications, verify eligibility, print and mail eligibility certificates.
- Place office orders and ensure timely delivery of grave markers, headstones, and niche-wall markers.
- Oversee the internal operations of data entering information into Bureau's client-management systems.
- Run reports to ensure NCA guidelines and policies are met.
- Provide backup for other administration staff, scheduling burials, answering phones for cemetery-related questions.
- Assist in compiling and proofing yearly wall of name updates.
- Provide secondary coverage for ordering and maintaining inventory, paying invoices, and plot allowances.
- Training, education, or experience in office and administrative support work that demonstrates competency in applying a proficient knowledge of modern office practices.
- Ability to work with grieving family members in a compassionate and professional manner.
- Pass federal background check to access NCA's BOSS program as a condition of employment.
