Job Summary

The Human Resources Consultant - Employee Relations plays a vital role in supporting the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center's commitment to diversity and inclusion. This position serves as a strategic advisor to employees and management, providing expert guidance on employee relations, policy development, and administration of human resource policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide consultative advice and services to employees and management on employee relations, policy development, and administration of human resource policies and procedures.
  • Investigate and resolve complex employee relations issues, including conducting investigations and preparing findings.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve employee engagement and relations, including coaching and development of individualized employee development tools.
  • Collaborate with supervisors to improve performance development, discipline, and grievances.
  • Support the classified staff grievance process and facilitate mediation for staff and supervisors.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Three years of experience resolving complex employee relations issues, including conducting investigations and preparing findings.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Two or more years of experience in Higher Education.
