Robert Half is seeking a dependable Senior Human Resources Employee Relations Specialist to join our clients team in a permanent capacity. As an HR Employee Relations Specialist, you will play an important role in managing overall employee relations functions. This involves overseeing recruitment processes and onboarding, leaning development, managing employee relations, addressing complaint escalations, resolution of conflicts, and HRIS management.


The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of HR best practices and have the ability to design and implement HR policies and plans to help improve retention rates and enhance the workplace environment.


Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment and Employee Onboarding: Oversee and manage end-to-end recruitment across all levels within the organization. Implement effective strategies to attract the best talents. Oversee the orientation and onboarding of new hires to ensure smooth incorporation into the organization's culture and operations.
  • Employee Relations: Enhance employee engagement, morale, and productivity by building and maintaining positive relationships between employees and management. Provide counselling or guidance to staff when necessary.
  • Leaning Development: Strive for a learning culture within the organization. Identify staff development needs and coordinate with related departments to arrange relevant training. Monitor the effectiveness of training and development activities.
  • Complaint Escalations: Be a trusted point of contact for complaints. Ensure each case is handled appropriately, investigated thoroughly, achieving a fair and just outcome. Manage difficult conversations professionally and provide mitigating solutions.
  • Conflict Resolution: Adequately manage ill feelings, global issues, disputes between teams or individuals that, if left unresolved, could disrupt workplace harmony.
  • Employee File Management and HRIS: Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date employee records. Manage the accurate input, tracking, and updating of employee data in HRIS. Utilize HRIS data to generate useful HR reports and offer strategic insights.
  • Implementation and Improvement of HR Policies/Plans: Regularly review existing HR policies, respond to changes in the environment or operations, and create new policies when necessary. Drive the implementation of HR policies. Establish plans to improve employee retention rate.
  • HR Strategy Alignment: Work cohesively with the HR team and interdepartmental managers to ensure HR strategies are aligned with the organization's visions, values, cultures, and goals.
  • Legal Compliance: Keep current with laws, regulations, and best practices in employment law, human rights, and health and safety. Ensure policy compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or a related field.
  • Five years of proven experience in human resources, preferably in a people-facing role.
  • Extensive knowledge of HRIS and other data management systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and experience in conflict resolution.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Robust knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Comfortability traveling between offices in Manhattan to prove on-site employee support as needed.
