Overview:

Provides ongoing support to the Company’s employee relations objectives. Serve as the primary Human Resources business partner responsible for all aspects of the Company’s Employee Recognition Programs, including design, implementation and ongoing administration, and will also coordinate the rollout and update of Human Resources communications (i.e., Employee

Newsletter) to the organization. In addition, support the Director, Employee Relations and Vice President, Human Resources in special projects as needed.


General Responsibilities:


  • Provide investigation support of investigations into employee complaints which include gathering relevant documentation, interviewing involved parties / witnesses and taking detailed notes.
  • Compile investigation findings into clear and concise reports for review by the Director of Employee Relations.
  • Work closely with the Director of Employee Relations and HR Business Partners to ensure all aspects of the investigation are handled effectively.
  • Drives the development and implementation of Recognition programs and other people-related initiatives
  • Manages all employee recognition programs (i.e., Employee of the Month, “Kudos” letters, etc.)
  • Consistently makes recommendations to Senior Management on ways to improve employee satisfaction & motivation
  • Analyzes, benchmarks, &makes recommendations to modify existing recognition programs and HR policies through review of retention data, and other resources, to provide management with recommendations, as necessary, to improve current and future relations between employees and management and keep ahead of trends& competitors
  • Researches various diversity initiatives and recommends enhancements to Company diversity program
  • Researches and keeps abreast of federal and state employment laws/regulations to ensure compliance with current pertinent Human Resource policies, procedures and practices
  • Coordinates HR Communication roll-outs and updates to employee policies, handbooks, etc.
  • Coordinates and facilitates employee events (i.e., Bring your kids to work, Award Banquets, Corp. parties)
  • Responsible for development and implementation of discount programs and offers for employees
  • Designs and generates quarterly employee newsletters (CBPS and AGS)
  • Liaison with CUSA in respect to award programs and Canon offerings as well as special projects.


Physical Demands/working conditions/Mental qualifications:

  • Intermittent physical activity including reaching, prolonged periods of sitting, bending, or lifting (up to 50lbs)
  • Some travel may be necessary
  • Mental qualifications include the ability to perform all tasks assigned
  • Ensure all company employees have good morale


Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years background in Employee Relations or related area
  • Excellent relationship management skills
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Professional attitude and appearance
  • Advanced organizational, administrative, record-keeping and time-management skills
  • Ability to effectively negotiate and influence
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to interpret data and translate it into written word
  • Ability to prioritize and work with others, including all levels of management
  • Ability to resolve issues and take responsibility for work performed and work delegated
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of the principles of HR Management and labor relations
  • Knowledge of standard office equipment


COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Advanced report writing Skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of HR Database programs
  • Knowledge of MS Publisher and Graphic Design and Manipulation
