POSITION SUMMARY

The Registered Nurse is responsible for independently planning, executing, and assessing nursing care in various patient scenarios, adhering to established standards and protocols. This role involves delivering direct patient care, as well as taking on educational and leadership responsibilities. The nurse will actively participate in shared decision-making and quality improvement initiatives with minimal supervision.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Formulate care plans that outline strategies to achieve desired patient outcomes.
  • Implement nursing interventions and coordinate care delivery effectively.
  • Engage in patient education to promote health and safety.
  • Assess and evaluate patient progress towards care goals.
  • Uphold ethical nursing practices and maintain current knowledge in the field.
  • Integrate evidence-based practices into daily nursing activities.
  • Contribute to quality nursing practices and participate in shared decision-making processes.
  • Communicate effectively across all levels of practice.
  • Demonstrate leadership within the nursing environment.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and the healthcare team to enhance nursing practice.
  • Utilize resources wisely to ensure safe and effective nursing services.
  • Practice in a manner that promotes a safe and healthy environment.
  • Be accountable for engaging in the shared decision-making model of NCH Healthcare System.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in Florida.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from a recognized provider.
  • Participation in the RN Residency Program for new graduate nurses.
  • Proficient in basic computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows.
