Bilingual Elementary Education Assistant

In preparation for upcoming opportunities within our educational institution, we are inviting applications for the role of Bilingual Elementary Education Assistant. About Us

The Latin American Montessori Bilingual Public Charter School offers a distinctive educational model that provides bilingual Montessori public education to a diverse community in the capital. We serve children from Pre-Kindergarten through 5th grade, and our community is devoted to nurturing children while promoting values of peace and equality.

Position Overview

We are in search of a motivated team member to assist educators and students in the role of Instructional Assistant during regular school hours. This position involves supporting teachers and students in grades First through Fifth. Experience in a Montessori environment is advantageous. The selected candidate must be open to professional development in Montessori methodologies and be prepared to implement these approaches in learning, discipline, and classroom management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adhere to the Dual Language Allocation Plan.
  • Assist with morning arrival and drop-off duties between designated hours.
  • Support afternoon dismissal procedures during specified times.
  • Prepare Montessori materials for classroom use, including organizing and labeling.
  • Provide coverage and academic support throughout the school day, including classroom management and collaboration with teachers to enhance the bilingual Montessori curriculum.
  • Participate actively in the school’s coaching culture and work towards personal and professional development goals.
  • Engage in regular meetings and professional development sessions to foster continuous learning.
  • Contribute to school safety and assist with various duties as assigned.
  • Attend school events outside of regular instructional hours.
  • Support the integration of technology in educational practices.
  • Embody the principles of Grace and Courtesy in all interactions.
  • Promote an inclusive classroom environment that upholds high expectations for all students.
  • Maintain punctuality and professionalism in all responsibilities.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Fluency in Spanish and English.
  • Experience in early childhood education or dual-language programs.
  • Ability to work with a diverse range of student abilities.
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace is preferred.
  • Compliance with health requirements.
