Victim Support Specialist

Philadelphia Corporation for Aging (PCA) is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Victim Support Coordinator to join our team. As a Victim Support Coordinator, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing care plans to remove imminent risk to identified clients aged 60 and above who are victims of abuse, neglect, financial exploitation, or abandonment.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement care plans to assist victims and remove imminent risk.
- Make referrals to appropriate agencies and services as indicated.
- Assess the need for emergency intervention, including petitioning for involuntary mental health commitments, protection from abuse orders, emergency intervention and access orders, when appropriate.
- Testify in court as needed.
- Accompany and assist police in delivery and enforcement of court orders.
- Provide ongoing case management to victims who are older adults in need of protective services.
- Document all case activity in accordance with State regulations, agency policies, and best practice.
- Establish and maintain relationships with public service providers, including mental health and healthcare providers, police district offices, and other community agencies.
- Coordinate case planning with other service providers and delivery systems.
- BA/BS/BSW or MA/MS/MSW in Social Work or related social science.
- 3 years direct service experience, with familiarity with protective services, victim services, crisis intervention, mental health, or case management with the elderly.
- High energy level, able to manage a variety of projects simultaneously.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
- Well-organized.
- High level of flexibility.
- Able to make quick independent decisions.
- Possesses advocacy skills and a sense of professional ethics with a commitment to confidentiality.
This is a grant-funded position that is scheduled to run through October 1, 2020. This date may change depending on future funding of this grant.
