Key Responsibilities:
The Collection Operations Supervisor is tasked with overseeing collection activities across various business lines, including commercial, residential, and roll-off services. This role involves managing drivers and helpers while collaborating with the Operations Manager to implement strategic initiatives aimed at achieving operational excellence and budgetary goals. The Supervisor ensures compliance with all safety, environmental, operational, regulatory, and ethical standards.

Principal Responsibilities:

Safety:

  • Lead efforts to achieve and communicate safety objectives.
  • Identify and mitigate unsafe conditions on drivers' routes.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to address safety concerns for existing and prospective clients.
  • Work closely with the maintenance team to ensure all equipment is operational and meets safety standards.
  • Implement effective safety and accident prevention programs to foster a safe and productive work environment.
  • Encourage employee participation in safety initiatives through personal commitment and outreach.
  • Conduct daily safety briefings at operational depots.
  • Perform inspections on route vehicles.
  • Respond to accidents and carry out preliminary investigations.
  • Carry out minor repairs on containers as necessary.

Customer Experience:

  • Deliver services that meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Understand and achieve missed pickup goals.
  • Address service requests, equipment issues, and schedule changes with prompt communication.
  • Engage with customers to resolve issues and enhance their overall experience.
  • Act as a positive representative of the company to foster customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Efficiency:

  • Set productivity goals and ensure adherence to operational standards.
  • Guide drivers to surpass productivity expectations.
  • Optimize routes to enhance efficiency and maximize service density.
  • Minimize route hours through service adjustments and container upgrades.
  • Execute operational plans to meet or exceed budgetary targets.
  • Support service delivery while collaborating with maintenance for fleet quality.

Employee Engagement:

  • Foster a collaborative and communicative team environment.
  • Develop team talent and provide coaching for career advancement.

Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old and legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Proficient in using technology, including tablets and computers.
  • High school diploma or GED required; higher education is advantageous.
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull at least 50 pounds.
