Job Summary:

The General Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of our restaurant's daily operations, from staff management and customer service to financial performance and inventory control. You will play a vital role in creating a positive and productive work environment while delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests.

Key Accountabilities: Staff Management and Culture Building
  • Recruit, train, and lead a team of dedicated restaurant staff, including assistant managers, kitchen managers, shift leaders, cooks, and front-of-house personnel.
  • Cultivate a positive, inclusive work environment that fosters teamwork, respect, and a strong work ethic.
  • Promote exceptional customer service and hospitality among all staff members.
  • Encourage open communication and collaboration within the team.
  • Lead by example and set high standards for professionalism and customer focus.
  • Recognize and reward outstanding employee performance to boost morale.
People Development
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive training program for all staff members, emphasizing their personal and professional growth.
  • Identify the strengths and weaknesses of each team member and create individualized development plans.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to help employees improve their skills and advance in their careers.
  • Support staff in setting and achieving their career goals.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement, encouraging staff to participate in relevant training and workshops.
Customer Service
  • Ensure exceptional customer service and guest satisfaction at all times.
  • Handle customer complaints promptly and effectively, resolving issues with care and professionalism.
  • Lead the team in maintaining a welcoming and hospitable atmosphere for guests.
  • Train staff to provide attentive and courteous service while fostering their personal growth and development.
Operations Management
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, including food preparation, service, and cleanliness.
  • Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed, ensuring efficient stock management.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations to maintain a safe and sanitary environment.
  • Manage restaurant finances effectively, including budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting.
  • Implement and enforce company policies and procedures, emphasizing their role in staff development and career advancement.
  • Provide excellent food quality and presentation, adhering to our commitment to fresh ingredients and culinary excellence.
  • Maintain high food safety standards throughout all operations.
Sales and Marketing
  • Develop and execute marketing strategies that align with the restaurant's brand identity and values.
  • Analyze sales data and trends to make informed decisions that resonate with our target audience.
  • Promote special events and promotions that highlight the unique offerings of Salem's Fresh Eats.
  • Build relationships with customers to encourage repeat business, fostering a loyal customer base.
  • Promote brand awareness within the community through various initiatives.
Financial Management
  • Achieve store sales and profit goals while effectively managing overhead costs, cash flow, and other assets.
  • Manage payroll, control expenses, and optimize profitability without compromising our commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
Inventory and Supply Chain
  • Monitor inventory levels closely and conduct regular inventory checks to ensure accuracy.
  • Order supplies efficiently to meet operational needs while maintaining optimal stock levels.
  • Develop strong relationships with suppliers to secure high-quality ingredients at competitive prices.
