Hardware-in-the-Loop Simulation Systems Engineer

Job PurposeThe HILS Application Engineer supports the design, assembly, validation, and test deployment of HILS (Hardware-in-the-Loop Simulation) systems to support vehicle embedded software development.
Key Responsibilities- Executes software validation test plans to ensure complete coverage of test requirements by a given project development milestone.
- Supports the complete design of a HIL Simulator, including simulator hardware selection, plant model specification and programming, I/O channel selection, and simulator/controller harness design.
- Prepares test automation scripts to meet testing requirements from the system function team.
- Accurately reports test results and conditions so that correct system judgments may be made.
- Documents test conduct and results, problems and resolutions, and results of investigations in an established database.
- Supports Senior Engineers in the design, purchase, and deployment of new HILS systems from suppliers.
- Bachelor's of Science in Mathematics, Computer Science, or Software Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 0-2 years of relevant experience.
- Working knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink graphical modeling.
- Working knowledge of embedded control (real-time), simulators, and software.
- Acceptable platforms are dSPACE, National Instruments, Vector, and/or OEM Proprietary Tools.
- Working knowledge of electrical and signal measurement tools and software.
- Working knowledge of vehicle systems and networks is desired.
- Python, MATLAB programming skills are desired.
- Working knowledge of system modeling using CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) and analysis.
