Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Hardware-in-the-Loop Simulation Engineer to join our team at American Honda Motor Co. This role will support the design, assembly, validation, and test deployment of HILS systems to enable vehicle embedded software development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute software validation test plans to ensure comprehensive test coverage by project development milestones.
  • Support the design of HILS simulators, including hardware selection, plant model specification, programming, I/O channel selection, and simulator/controller harness design.
  • Develop test automation scripts to meet testing requirements from the system function team.
  • Accurately report test results and conditions to inform system judgments.
  • Document test conduct, results, problems, and resolutions in an established database.
  • Collaborate with Senior Engineers on the design, purchase, and deployment of new HILS systems from suppliers.
  • Collect, implement, and maintain prototype control software and physical system models from related function groups.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's of Science in Mathematics, Computer Science, or Software Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience.
  • Working knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink graphical modeling.
  • Working knowledge of embedded control (real-time), simulators, and software.
  • A working knowledge of electrical and signal measurement tools and software.
  • Working knowledge of vehicle systems and networks is desired.
  • Python and MATLAB programming skills are desired.
  • Working knowledge of system modeling using CAE and analysis.
  • Strong quantitative/analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with team members and peers across the organization.
  • Decision-making skills, able to make sound decisions on mildly complex matters.
  • Ability to multi-task and work with minimal supervision.
  • Effective communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation).
  • Ability to manage time effectively and productively.
Working Conditions
  • Commitment to work necessary hours to achieve all responsibilities, including overtime and operating at early and late day hours.
  • Must be able to lift 20 lbs.
  • Kneeling, bending, sitting, and standing.
  • Travel is sometimes required - ~5% (International travel may be requested).
  • Office work is split between on-site and remote (Work From Home, WFH).
