Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain ongoing communication with clients throughout the year, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of their business and control systems while fostering strong client relationships.
  • Act as the engagement partner or report directly to the engagement partner, adhering to firm policies.
  • Sign attest opinions as a representative of the firm when designated as the engagement partner.
  • Oversee all phases of audits, reviews, or accounting engagements, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting frameworks and firm policies.
  • Keep the engagement partner informed of significant developments on client accounts, identifying potential issues and implementing solutions after consultation.
  • Exhibit expertise in necessary technical skills to effectively advise clients.
  • Ensure proper scheduling of engagements.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in areas such as not-for-profit organizations, unions, and benefit plans.
  • Supervise engagement teams, providing on-the-job training and reviewing work papers and reports in line with firm policies.
  • Play a crucial role in staff performance evaluations, reviews, and ongoing coaching.
  • Participate in recruitment efforts and interview Assurance and Advisory candidates as necessary.
  • Act as a representative of the firm in business development, cultivating a network of contacts and referrals to generate new business.
  • Lead prospective client engagements, managing initial communications, generating fee estimates, and attending client meetings.
  • Embrace a firm-first philosophy, promoting unity and collaboration.
  • Perform additional tasks as required by the partner group.
Qualifications
  • Approximately 10 years of experience in public accounting, with at least 3 years in a senior managerial role.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
  • Possession of a current and valid CPA license.
  • Willingness to travel to client locations as needed.
  • Proven ability to generate new business for a CPA firm.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Demonstrated project management and time management capabilities.
  • Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS), and Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) standards as applicable.
  • Adherence to all firm-wide policies and procedures.
  • Ability to direct, review, and mentor departmental staff.
  • Flexibility for same-day travel for client meetings and seminars as required.
  • Occasional out-of-town travel with overnight stays may be necessary.
  • Willingness to work overtime, particularly during peak periods.
