Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain ongoing communication with clients, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of their business operations and control systems while fostering strong client relationships.
  • Assume the role of engagement partner or report directly to the engagement partner, adhering to firm policies during engagements.
  • Sign attest opinions as a representative of the firm when designated as the engagement partner.
  • Oversee all stages of audits, reviews, or accounting engagements, ensuring compliance with the relevant accounting framework and firm standards.
  • Keep the engagement partner informed of significant developments regarding client accounts, identifying potential issues and proposing solutions after consultation.
  • Exhibit a high level of technical proficiency necessary to provide sound advice to clients.
  • Ensure proper scheduling of engagements.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in specific areas, particularly in not-for-profit organizations, unions, and benefit plans.
  • Guarantee that billing and collection practices are executed in line with firm policies.
  • Supervise engagement teams, providing on-the-job training and reviewing work papers and reports in accordance with firm standards.
  • Play a crucial role in staff performance evaluations, offering guidance and support.
  • Participate in the recruitment process for Assurance and Advisory candidates as needed.
  • Act as a representative of the firm in business development initiatives, cultivating a network of contacts to generate new business opportunities.
  • Lead prospective client engagements, managing initial communications, generating fee estimates, and attending client meetings.
  • Embrace a collaborative philosophy that emphasizes unity within the firm.
  • Perform additional tasks as required by the partner group.
Qualifications
  • Approximately 10 years of experience in public accounting, with at least 3 years in a senior management role.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
  • Current and valid CPA license.
  • Willingness to travel to client locations as needed.
  • Proven ability to generate new business for a CPA firm.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Demonstrated project management and time management capabilities.
  • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) in the United States, along with relevant auditing standards.
  • Adherence to all firm-wide policies and procedures.
  • Ability to direct, review, and mentor departmental staff.
  • Flexibility for same-day travel for client meetings and seminars.
  • Occasional out-of-town travel may be required.
  • Willingness to work overtime during peak periods, particularly from January to mid-May.
