KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Sales Counter Specialist plays a crucial role in the daily operations of the store, which includes:

  • Effectively managing daily transactions to meet and align with the company's core values and objectives;
  • Achieving sales targets to ensure the store meets or exceeds its financial goals;
  • Fostering a safe and respectful environment for both customers and team members at all times.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, DUTIES AND ABILITIES:

  • Maintaining personal safety standards throughout the store;
  • Delivering exceptional customer service, including prompt order processing;
  • Upholding store appearance and merchandising as assigned;
  • Exhibiting strong telephone communication and etiquette skills;
  • Thriving in a fast-paced retail environment;
  • Communicating effectively with colleagues, both verbally and in writing;
  • Demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well within a diverse team;
  • Adhering to performance standards set for counter staff;
  • Utilizing resources efficiently and effectively;
  • Building strong relationships with customers, associates, and support staff;
  • Being accountable for achieving both personal and store objectives;
  • Maintaining high standards of customer service to create positive experiences;
  • Fostering customer loyalty;
  • Leveraging marketing and training tools to enhance sales and market presence;
  • Utilizing computerized systems for inventory control, invoicing, and other operational tasks;
  • Providing high levels of customer service with a working knowledge of automotive systems;
  • Learning to perform various shop functions as required;
  • Conducting physical inventories and stock management;
  • Stocking shelves and fulfilling customer orders.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred;
  • Must provide a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report prior to employment;
  • Completion of a pre-employment drug test is required;
  • ASE Certification is preferred but not mandatory at the time of hire;
  • Adherence to all company policies and procedures is expected.

WORK SCHEDULE:

Flexibility in scheduling is required, including the ability to work various days, evenings, and weekends to ensure quality service while supporting business growth with integrity.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

The physical demands outlined are representative of those that must be met by a Sales Counter Specialist to successfully perform essential job functions. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities. The role frequently requires standing, walking, sitting, using hands for various tasks, reaching, climbing, and communicating. The Sales Counter Specialist may need to operate a vehicle and must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, with assistance available for heavier items. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The work environment may involve exposure to varying conditions, including humidity, mechanical parts, and temperature fluctuations, with a moderate noise level.
