KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Sales Counter Associate is accountable for various aspects of the store's daily functions, including:

  • Successfully executing daily operations to ensure that all objectives related to the role are achieved in alignment with the company's core principles;
  • Meeting sales targets to ensure the store reaches or surpasses its financial goals;
  • Fostering a safe and respectful environment for both employees and customers at all times.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, DUTIES AND ABILITIES:

  • Upholding personal safety standards throughout the store;
  • Delivering exceptional customer service, including prompt and efficient handling of customer orders;
  • Maintaining store presentation and merchandising as directed;
  • Exhibiting excellent telephone communication and etiquette;
  • Thriving in a fast-paced and dynamic retail environment;
  • Effectively communicating with colleagues, both verbally and in writing;
  • Demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well within a diverse team;
  • Adhering to performance standards set for counter staff;
  • Ensuring optimal use of all available resources;
  • Building strong relationships with customers, colleagues, and support staff;
  • Being accountable for achieving both personal and store performance metrics;
  • Maintaining high standards of customer service and creating positive experiences that reflect well on the company;
  • Fostering customer loyalty;
  • Utilizing available tools for marketing, training, and customer technology programs to enhance sales and market presence;
  • Proficient in using computerized systems for inventory control, invoicing, and customer transactions;
  • Providing high levels of customer service and possessing knowledge of automotive systems;
  • Learning to perform various shop functions as required;
  • Conducting physical inventories and stock counts;
  • Stocking shelves and fulfilling customer orders.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred;
  • A satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report must be obtained and maintained;
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening;
  • ASE Certification is preferred but not mandatory at the time of hire;
  • Compliance with all company policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook.

WORK SCHEDULE:

Flexibility in scheduling is required, allowing for a variety of shifts including days, evenings, and weekends to ensure quality service while contributing to business growth with integrity.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

The physical requirements for this role include frequent standing, walking, sitting, and using hands for various tasks. The Sales Counter Associate may need to lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds, and occasionally more with assistance. The work environment may include exposure to various conditions, including wet or humid areas, moving mechanical parts, and outside weather conditions.
