We are seeking a highly skilled Operations Specialist to join our team at the Electric Reliability Council of Texas. As a key member of our Resource Operations Analysis & AS Testing team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of the Texas power grid.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct Testing and Evaluation: Conduct testing, including Ancillary Service (AS) qualification testing of supply side Resources, such as Generation Resources (GR) and Energy Storage Resources (ESRs), to ensure compliance with ERCOT protocols and NERC standards.
- System Performance Analysis: Evaluate actual events and disturbances experienced on the System to determine if Resources, including Aggregate Distribution Energy Resources (ADERs), meet protocols and NERC standards, and develop operational plans to improve power system performance and Resource performance requirements.
- Technical Support and Project Implementation: Provide technical support to implement projects, including Revision Requests that impact Energy Management Systems' (EMS') Generation Subsystem, and serve as a subject matter expert for the planning and operation of the electric power system.
- Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of experience as a power system engineer or similar type role within the electric utility industry.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in data analysis/analytics and working with large data sets/relational databases, PE Professional Engineer certification.
Employees will be required to be on-site in Taylor, TX at minimum 2 days per week, or more, as needed based on the business needs as determined by management. Remote work is required to be performed from your Texas residence.
