Business Operations Specialist

At the University of Texas at Austin, we are seeking a highly skilled Business Operations Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our administrative staff, you will be responsible for maintaining requests for the assigned resource account in ticketing and email systems. Your attention to detail and excellent communication skills will be essential in implementing a strategy for triaging requests, responding in a timely and customer-friendly manner, and addressing issues within one business day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain requests for the assigned resource account in ticketing and email systems
  • Implement a strategy for triaging requests and responding in a timely and customer-friendly manner
  • Administer business agreements, including drafting and routing business contracts and maintaining the system that stores agreement data
  • Serve as a point of contact for vendors and negotiate agreements as assigned
  • Create travel authorizations, payments, transfers, procurement, and procurement-related documents and transactions
  • Prepare invoices, track and collect outstanding receivables, and maintain databases and spreadsheets
  • Develop and maintain advanced knowledge of best practices and university/school policies, procedures, and processes for business operations
  • Recommend process improvements and draft or edit knowledge base articles
  • Ensure consistently professional communication with vendors, internal customers, and university offices
  • Perform various, regular, and ad-hoc research related to facilitating requests
  • Assist with account and budget maintenance, including funds transfers and balance inquiries
  • Serve as a backup to fellow BAS team members and program or administrative staff
