Position: Technical Support Engineer - Inside Applications

A prominent technology firm is seeking a dedicated Technical Support Engineer specializing in Inside Applications. The selected candidate will address essential technical inquiries across a diverse range of technologies, utilizing AI tools to enhance first contact resolution rates. The ideal applicant possesses 1-3+ years of relevant experience in roles such as application engineer, design validation engineer, or test engineer. Compensation and Benefits:

  • Hourly Rate: $35/hr

  • Work Schedule: 40 hours/week, 24-month assignment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Address fundamental technical inquiries across a broad spectrum of technologies, leveraging AI tools to boost first contact resolution.
  • Provide technical and application support for the company's range of data acquisition (DAQ) systems, function generators, digital multimeters (DMM), power supplies, electronic loads, frequency counters, source measurement units (SMU), oscilloscopes, application/test automation software, and software licensing.
  • Ensure customer interactions are managed with a high level of satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with a team of engineers to ensure timely resolution of new support requests.
  • Utilize a case management system to track customer interactions, document case resolutions, and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Create and publish knowledge articles and FAQs on the Support Portal to assist customers in finding solutions to their testing and measurement challenges.
  • Continuously develop and maintain technical expertise as new products are introduced.
  • Generate pre-sales leads and opportunities by translating customer technical requirements into specific product offerings.

Qualifications:

  • 1-3+ years of relevant experience as an application engineer, design validation engineer, or test engineer.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience with oscilloscopes, spectrometers, or similar equipment.
  • Military PMEL/TMDE (metrology) experience is a plus; experience supporting defense/military clients is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with electronic test and measurement instruments and test automation software.
  • This role involves customer interaction; prior experience in soft skills is beneficial.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers; experience in technical sales and/or customer service is preferred.
  • Programming skills in languages such as .NET, C#, C++, VB, and Python are advantageous.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; capable of explaining technical topics clearly via phone and email.
  • Self-motivated to explore and learn about products and their applications.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple customer inquiries daily.
  • Assist in the onboarding and training of Frontline Application Engineers.
  • Proficiency in Spanish, French, and/or Portuguese is a plus, as the company supports international clients.
