Job Title: Vice President of Accounting

About the Role:

Liberty Military Housing is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vice President of Accounting to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for supporting the accounting operations of Liberty Military Housing, including the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement financial planning and budgeting processes to ensure accurate financial reporting and forecasting.
  • Oversee the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Coordinate with external auditors to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with lenders and other external stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support business decisions and strategic planning.
  • Lead and manage a team of accounting professionals to ensure effective and efficient financial operations.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting standards and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance and best practices.

Requirements:

  • CPA or MBA preferred.
  • At least 10 years of experience in progressively responsible positions, including demonstrated leadership and senior management experience in finance and budget management.
  • Experience with Yardi a plus.
  • Microsoft Excel and Word proficiency.
  • Strong leader of people with the ability to create a compelling vision, identify and cultivate talent, demonstrate flexibility in approach, and motivate others to achieve desired results.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and demonstrated success in networking and ability to build and maintain effective relationships both internally and externally.
  • Strategic Thinking. Able to see and communicate the big picture in an inspiring way. Determines opportunities and threats through a comprehensive analysis of current and future trends.
