Job Summary

The Utilities Engineer II will provide essential services and support for the operation, maintenance, and regulatory compliance of mechanical systems, including HVAC, chilled water, steam, and electrical systems across the campus. Responsibilities include maintaining a comprehensive equipment replacement plan and developing an annual maintenance and repair execution strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Engineering Support: Assist in the operation and maintenance of mechanical utility systems.
  2. Record Management: Oversee the collection and maintenance of compliance records and reports.
  3. Project Management: Develop and manage repair and replacement projects for mechanical systems.
  4. Training Development: Identify training needs for operations and maintenance personnel.
  5. Reporting: Compile and produce engineering reports using various data sources.
  6. Purchasing: May require obtaining a state-issued purchasing card for procurement purposes.
  7. Collaboration: Serve as a liaison for projects with various departments.
  8. Additional Duties: Perform other related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications

Educational Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field.

Experience: Four to six years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications: FE or EIT certification, Professional Engineer License, or additional degrees in engineering disciplines.

Skills: Proficiency in engineering tools, procurement procedures, technical manual interpretation, and effective communication.

Conditions of Employment
