This role involves specialized clerical tasks, including preparing documents for imaging, scanning, linking, and performing various clerical and warehouse duties. The position requires data entry, processing, research, and filing of diverse legal documents within an automated environment. Employees in this capacity are responsible for reviewing and processing a wide range of official records and legal documents in compliance with relevant statutes and legal standards. Decisions are made within established guidelines and procedures, reporting to a supervisor or designated authority.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare documents for imaging by removing staples, repairing damaged pages, and detaching file clasps. Retrieve files for customer access, necessitating regular walking, climbing, and lifting of boxes weighing up to 50 pounds. Make copies and certify documents as needed, ensuring proper handling and replacement. Answer phone inquiries and document information as required. Provide assistance to customers and other departments, utilizing computer systems as necessary. Scan documents as required, with responsibilities for indexing and linking. Assist in warehouse operations for the storage, retrieval, and movement of files. Engage in projects that may involve manual handling of boxed files and sustained periods of physical activity. Perform additional related tasks as assigned.Qualifications:
Minimum of 1-year experience in clerical work, which may include customer service experience; or An equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience. Flexibility to work various schedules, including during emergencies or special situations.Preferred Skills:
Strong customer service abilities. Basic understanding of relevant statutes and court regulations. Capability to follow detailed instructions in accordance with laws and procedures.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Familiarity with legal terminology, grammar, spelling, and basic mathematics. Understanding of recordkeeping practices and procedures. Proficiency in operating automated office equipment. Skilled in delivering quality customer service. Ability to communicate information clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
