Job Overview

The Construction Security Supervisor (CSS) is tasked with managing and ensuring the safety of construction and renovation initiatives within the organization. This role involves coordinating project-related activities, acting as the organization's representative on security issues, and ensuring adherence to established security standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the appointed CSS for construction and renovation projects, ensuring compliance with security regulations.
  • Serve as the organization's point of contact for all security-related matters concerning construction firms and relevant authorities.
  • Engage in project meetings, evaluations, and design discussions to uphold project security.
  • Conduct design assessments to confirm compliance with security requirements and accreditation standards.
  • Oversee construction and renovation sites to ensure adherence to security protocols.
  • Carry out initial and ongoing risk evaluations as necessary.
  • Compile and submit essential security documentation, including security plans and waiver requests, while maintaining and updating records as required.
  • Implement security plans and uphold the integrity of construction sites.
  • Establish and enforce access control measures.
  • Maintain comprehensive security files, including work schedules, personnel information, access logs, and incident reports.
  • Conduct regular security inspections to ensure compliance with established security plans.
  • Assist in developing and executing move-in and move-out strategies.
  • Coordinate alternative workspace arrangements for personnel impacted by construction activities.
  • Research and draft management instructions for command space utilization.
  • Perform various tasks related to site security and administrative management as needed.

Qualifications:
  • Active TS/SCI clearance is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in security-compliant construction projects.
  • Thorough understanding of security requirements and associated technical specifications.
  • Completion of relevant security training and/or certification.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
  • A college degree is preferred.

Working Conditions:
  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.
  • Capability to stoop, kneel, bend, and reach as necessary.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 35 pounds.
  • Noise level: Low to moderate.
