Job Title: Wet Utility Construction Superintendent

Aves Construction, a leading underground utilities contractor in the DMV, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Wet Utility Construction Superintendent to join our team.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing construction crew employees, equipment, subcontractors, and materials on projects assigned in the region of responsibility for water and sewer projects. This includes planning, scheduling, instructing, and training in the completion of Water & Sewer/underground projects from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure a safe project site by planning and carrying out activities that maintain a safe working environment.
  • Enforce strict compliance of all safety requirements and ensure appropriate rewards or reprimands.
  • Partner with estimators and project managers to ensure maximum efficiency and profitability through understanding of project plans, specs, and scope of work.
  • Prepare and review schedules with appropriate staff to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Focus the project team to consistently exceed estimated labor production estimates.
  • Keep owners, inspectors, and internal management informed of work progress.
  • Ensure employees and equipment are matched with work appropriately.
  • Interact with subcontractors and material vendors for uninterrupted work flow.
  • Audit daily reports and redlines for accuracy and compliance.
Requirements:
  • 5 years of experience leading underground utilities and/or civil construction crews, with a preference for small diameter service replacement, large diameter, and deep underground pipe experience.
  • Ability to use construction industry software, including HCSS, Excel, and Word.
  • Proven organizational and planning capabilities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
