BASIS Ed is on the lookout for a dedicated Facilities Operations Specialist.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:15 AM - 4:15 PM

Compensation: $18 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the schedules of on-site maintenance personnel and contracted cleaning staff to ensure adequate coverage for the school's maintenance needs.
  • Ensure timely completion of all maintenance requests and work orders.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance, inspections, and arrange for necessary repairs.
  • Oversee both in-house and contracted maintenance services, including janitorial, painting, landscaping, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and minor construction tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, including OSHA standards.
  • Monitor and maintain fire safety and building management systems.
  • Manage facilities inventory data and accounting.
  • Assist with school events by preparing necessary equipment and overseeing setup and teardown activities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head of Operations.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 10 years of experience in facilities management within educational or commercial sectors such as healthcare, property management, senior living, or hospitality.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a positive attitude.
  • Proficient in negotiating and communicating effectively with vendors and contractors.
  • Skilled in assessing whether tasks should be handled internally or outsourced, and adept at problem-solving.
  • Experience with basic maintenance and repairs, including plumbing, drywall, electrical work, and carpentry.
  • Proficient in using computer systems and software, including Microsoft Office Suite and online building management systems.
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Ability to obtain necessary clearance to work at BASIS Ed.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents.
  • Experience with inventory management systems.
  • Relevant certifications such as HVAC or General Electrician License.
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations applicable to educational institutions.
