Applied Business Communications (ABcom), a frontrunner in the design and construction of mission-critical infrastructure, is in search of Sales Account Managers dedicated to driving new business growth.

In this role, you will oversee the marketing and sales of consulting services, engineering design, and the provision of products and labor necessary for establishing cabling, security, and wireless infrastructure for both new and existing clients.


Objective of this Role:

To enhance ABcom's market presence and client portfolio, establishing a leading position as the preferred provider of mission-critical infrastructure for data centers, healthcare facilities, and organizations reliant on continuous operational reliability across the United States.

To achieve profitable sales that surpass your assigned annual targets from both new and existing clients.


Position Scope:
This role reports directly to the Director of Sales or the Vice President of Operations.

Key Responsibilities:
Identify and cultivate new and existing accounts within your designated region through effective prospecting, networking, solution selling, and closing techniques.

Demonstrate the capability to secure a leading market share in your assigned area. Maintain a proven track record of consistently meeting and exceeding revenue and gross margin targets.

Establish and nurture relationships with customers and vendors.


Develop comprehensive business plans that outline strategies to achieve assigned sales and gross margin objectives, including prospecting, account strategy, forecasting, and pipeline management.


Prepare and deliver compelling proposal presentations and responses to RFPs that address key business challenges faced by prospects and showcase our tailored solutions.


Engage in effective networking activities with solution partners, consultants, and other professionals to maximize revenue and generate new business opportunities.

Utilize web 2.0 tools, social media, and collaborative applications to effectively communicate and network with clients and prospects.

Maintain up-to-date professional and technical knowledge by participating in educational workshops, reviewing industry publications, and engaging with professional organizations.

Specific Duties:
Reach out to assigned existing clients to maintain and strengthen the ABcom relationship.

Identify and develop new clients and opportunities through strategic networking and marketing efforts.


Act as a team leader, coordinating resources from engineering design and project management to meet customer needs and ensure profitable sales.


Within established processes, deliver exceptional customer satisfaction and experiences to foster ongoing and repeat business.

Expand ABcom's client base and geographic reach, leveraging our nationwide capabilities regardless of physical office locations.

Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Sales or Vice President of Operations.

Collaborative Relationships:
Work closely with the engineering team on design and bidding processes. Collaborate with engineering and project management teams to generate accurate bills of materials and cost estimates for upcoming projects. Ensure smooth transitions to Operations for closed sales. Coordinate with project managers to guarantee effective communication with customers and timely, high-quality delivery.
Requirements

Knowledge and Skills (Minimum Requirements):


Proven track record of successful sales achievements in technology sectors, including computers, software, broadband, mobility, wireless, infrastructure, telecommunications, and data centers.

Comfortable and personable in engaging with new clients, with a keen interest in understanding their needs and a strong desire to succeed.


Education and Credentials:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience.

Specialized Knowledge:
Strong business and financial acumen with analytical and numerical skills. Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Demonstrated ability to effectively network and build a new client base.

Experience:
Minimum of 2 years' experience in selling voice, data, wireless, and/or infrastructure products and services. Proven success in lead generation, account development, negotiation, solution selling, and closing profitable deals.

Skills:
Above-average proposal writing and strong presentation skills. Excellent at prospecting and securing appointments to introduce ABcom to potential clients. Self-motivated with the ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment.

Working Conditions:

Physical and Mental Requirements:

Basic Office Environment:
Ability to sit and make calls, as well as work on a computer for a minimum of 8 hours.

Ability to travel to customer sites and participate in meetings, presentations, and site surveys.

Ability to walk through customer locations for initial surveys and potentially collaborate with design engineers.


Ability to lead internal teams on behalf of customers to ensure their needs are met.

Ability to analyze the financial implications of client proposals and effectively communicate margin strategies to internal teams.
