Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Line Cook to join our culinary team at Silver Bay YMCA. As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking food items to the highest standards, while maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook food items according to recipes and guidelines
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including the dining hall, dish room, and storage areas
  • Ensure that food is prepared correctly and served in a timely manner
  • Work effectively as part of a team to achieve kitchen goals and objectives
  • Report any accidents or incidents to management
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1-2 years of experience as a prep cook or in a related culinary role
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Mathematical skills necessary to convert recipes based on guest count
Working Conditions

This is a full-time, non-exempt position that requires prolonged periods of standing and walking. The successful candidate must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
