Lead Estimation Manager

The Senior Estimator plays a crucial role in overseeing, organizing, and leading the Estimating team for a variety of electrical construction initiatives. This position entails managing operational budgets, staffing, task assignments, and conducting performance evaluations.
The Senior Estimator will also uphold and enforce departmental standards and protocols, ensuring the final assessment and approval of estimate packages.
This role involves collaboration with the Operations Manager and Division Manager to determine which projects to pursue.Company Background:

Huen Electric, Inc., a subsidiary of MYR Group, is a prominent electrical construction firm with offices in multiple states. Established in 1983, Huen Electric has built a reputation as a proactive and resourceful electrical contractor.
With extensive experience in completing successful electrical construction and telecommunications projects, Huen Electric serves general contractors, commercial and industrial facility owners, local governments, and developers. We also offer design/assist services, including cost estimation, value engineering, and preconstruction planning.
Key Responsibilities:- Assume leadership roles within the Estimating department.
- Assess and review requests for estimates, proposals, and qualifications.
- Prepare and manage the weekly bid calendar to ensure timely completion of estimates.
- Review estimates and revisions for accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain and enhance the precision database.
- Develop and manage cost data, including labor and equipment rates, installation methods, and production rates.
- Establish and uphold estimating procedures and guidelines.
- Generate reports as required.
- Set and manage departmental budgets.
- Determine constructability requirements.
- Lead, direct, and audit the work of assigned staff, acting as a mentor.
- Advise staff on company policy expectations.
- Coordinate employee performance evaluations.
- Foster and maintain relationships with existing and prospective clients.
- May develop training requirements for estimating staff.
- Ensure regular and predictable attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential functions of this position are to be carried out in a designated office or field location. Compliance with the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics Policy and other industry-specific professional and ethical standards is required.
Candidate Profile:Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Lead or Senior Estimator.
- Over 10 years of experience in the construction industry.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (N.E.C.) and local regulations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and estimating software.
- Team-oriented with strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to interpret civil, architectural, structural, mechanical plans, and specifications, including blueprints and proposals.
Salary: Competitive and commensurate with experience, paid weekly. The hiring range is reflective of good faith estimates, with adjustments based on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
