Principal Data Scientist for Apple's Privacy Team

We're looking for an exceptional Principal Data Scientist to join our Privacy team at Apple. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for building and deploying cutting-edge privacy-preserving technologies for measurement and machine learning. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to work with talented engineers and researchers to develop innovative solutions that drive business growth and customer trust.

About the Role:

  • You will lead cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy end-to-end measurement systems that meet Apple's rigorous privacy standards.
  • You will collaborate with senior leaders to communicate system design tradeoffs, privacy risks, and potential mitigations to inform decision-making.
  • You will guide the development of data collection systems that enable training and evaluation of generative AI systems while preserving user privacy.

What You'll Need:

  • A strong background in computer science, mathematics, or a related field.
  • Experience shipping large-scale differentially private production systems.
  • Leadership experience in strategic technical projects with multiple partners.
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with differential privacy or private federated learning concepts.

Compensation: $207,800 - $378,700 annually, based on qualifications and location. Apple offers a comprehensive package of benefits, including employee stock programs, health insurance, retirement plans, and more.
