Senior Data Scientist for Artificial Intelligence at Apple

Apple is a leader in the technology industry, and we're looking for an experienced Senior Data Scientist to join our Measurement team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machine learning and artificial intelligence, as well as excellent communication skills.
The Measurement team works with teams across Apple to build platforms, create methodologies, and enable partners to measure, understand, and proactively improve their products. As a Senior Data Scientist, you will be responsible for owning and driving part of our technical portfolio for Apple Intelligence.
About the Role- Partner with engineering groups to build tooling, processes, and methodologies to automatically understand and improve Apple products and services.
- Engage in research on the development of data collection systems that enable training and evaluation of generative AI systems while preserving privacy.
- Collaborate with the head of the Measurement org to drive several research projects and prototype applications to gauge appropriateness for larger investment.
You will also use large language models to optimize resource allocation and measure the quality of generative AI models, products, and services. Successful candidates will need to have a passion for user privacy and superb communication skills with an ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
Requirements- Experience leading strategic technical projects with multiple stakeholders and directing work of other engineers and/or data scientists or as a technical lead.
- Strong collaboration, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to solve complex problems independently.
- Experience with foundation models, including training and evaluation.
- Programming experience.
- Ph.D. in Statistics, Biostatistics, Computer Science, Machine Learning, or equivalent experience.
- Passion for customer privacy.
The base pay range for this role is between $207,800 and $378,700, depending on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.
